Nondiscrimination Policy


POLICY:
The Kentucky Phoenix Project (KPP) upholds a steadfast commitment to creating and maintaining an environment free from discrimination. We ensure equal treatment and opportunity for all employees, volunteers, clients, and participants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
PURPOSE:
To prevent discrimination in all KPP activities and interactions, promoting a culture of inclusivity, respect, and equality.

PROCEDURE

  1. Scope and Application:
    ● This policy applies universally within KPP, encompassing all operations, employment practices, client services, and organizational activities.
  2. Responsibilities:
    ● Leadership Team: Ensure the policy is communicated, understood, and implemented across all levels of the organization.
    ● Employees and Volunteers: Adhere to the policy in all interactions, report any incidents of discrimination, and promote an inclusive environment.
    ● Human Resources: Manage reports of discrimination, conduct investigations, and take appropriate actions, including training or disciplinary measures.
  3. Reporting and Resolution:
    ● KPP provides a clear mechanism for reporting discrimination, ensuring confidentiality and protection from retaliation for those who report in good faith.
    ● Reports of discrimination will be promptly investigated, with findings leading to appropriate corrective actions to address and prevent future occurrences.
  4. Training and Awareness:
    ● Regular training on nondiscrimination, diversity, and inclusion will be provided to all employees and volunteers to foster an understanding and commitment to this policy.
    ● Awareness initiatives will be conducted to reinforce KPP’s commitment to a discrimination-free environment.
  5. Accessibility and Accommodation:
    ● KPP is committed to ensuring accessibility for all individuals, including making reasonable accommodations for employees and clients with disabilities.
    ● Requests for accommodations will be handled with sensitivity, ensuring individuals’ needs are met in accordance with applicable laws.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    ● The effectiveness of KPP’s Nondiscrimination Policy will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our community and reflects best practices in promoting equality and diversity.

    RESPONSIBILITY:
    All members of the Kentucky Phoenix Project community are responsible for upholding the principles of this Nondiscrimination Policy. The Leadership Team has ultimate responsibility for ensuring policy compliance and fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect.
